Meet the Photographer
My name is Shawn, I was born & raised in Torrington, CT. I have been doing photography since 2005 & have been continuously learning & perfecting my art ever since. Photography is my outlet to help keep me mellow & sober. When I first started out I was using the small point & shoot 35mm rolls of film. Then I started getting into more of the SLR cameras like Minolta, which I had for a couple years. When I realized buying rolls of film & sending those out to get developed was just not cost effective to me, I transitioned over to DSLR. I got my first DSLR camera in 2008 which was a Nikon D3000 & from that point on I was hooked on the digital cameras & I have been a loyal Nikon fan ever since with now a Nikon D3500 & hopefully this year adding a Nikon D780 to me gear.
Today, photography has not only been a side hustle for me, but it has also become a passion of mine. From capturing natures most breath taking views of scenery & wildlife to weather, car racing, airshows, & people. On the business side, I also love taking shots of the things people see as dark & show them that even in darkness there is beauty & Light.
When I am not doing a photo session, you can usually find me traveling & exploring nature & small towns from the Mid-Atlantic the region to New England, capturing the beauty we so much overlook in everyday experiences. Beauty is everywhere & in everything, & I feel it is up to me to capture that & share it with the world.
Beside photography as a passion, I have also done shoots for local small businesses & what they do from mechanics to stores. I have also recently added photoshoots for area emergency services when they do their training days from fire departments & fire schools, to EMS, Police, local community safety teams like C.E.R.T. - (Community Emergency Response Team), & other forms of community emergency search & response teams.
